Formula 1 driver and Ambassador Alex Albon had the idea to create a special version of his Williams Racing helmet at the Singapore Grand Prix to benefit the Iceman Charity. That helmet, designed by the young artists at Bangkok’s largest orphanage with the elephant good luck symbol of Thailand, raised an incredible £84,000! The children of Wat Sakaeo Orphanage are proud of their role in this special project and filled with happiness about its success. The luck of the elephant and the generous support of the sport of F1 shine brightly!
The Iceman Charity is not an official organization. The Iceman Charity is a mission! My wish is to bring smiles to the faces of underprivileged kids – the kids who nicknamed me The Iceman.
All success depends on the lead of the caretakers. So the Iceman Charity decided to finance the five critical roles in caretaking to prove our developments in guiding the kids and improving cleaning & hygiene – Director of Caretakers, Head of Bangsadej-, Girls-, Boys- and Kindergarten Caretakers.
1.900.000 of 2.500.000 THB donated
Water pumps and filters need to be serviced all around the year. Meanwhile we built 3 water pump stations and 9 water filter stations. An annual service contract secures the best and most professional service to keep clean water running. In addition, we do annual repairs on all renovated buildings.
105.000 of 420.000 THB donated
New boards for all dormitories are needed. Most steel boards are 30+ years old and rusted through. Other buildings have wooden lockers, which have fallen apart due to the high humidity.
In total, 1.400 lockers are needed. For some buildings, we are planning to have a double locker board for two kids; for younger children, we can use four locker boards.

After 12 years of hard duties, the Iceman Charity Tuk Tuk is done! The engine is broken, batteries are damaged and rust has damaged some structural parts. We will keep it for some spare parts, but it is worth to get setup a 2nd hand Tuk Tuk again.
46.000 of 300.000 THB donated
The Yelow Boy’s House is the last building, where we need to do a core renovation. The roof had been replaced 7 years ago, which saves us budget for this renovation. It’s also the last buildings where kids don’t sleep in singe beds.

The Sanitary House 1 hosts the toilets and washing area for around 120 – 160 kids. The last renovation of the bathrooms had been about 20 years ago; the old washing basins were renovated 12 years ago by Icemen Charity.
The building is the oldest in the complex and needs to be demolished and built up from scratch. Due to Thailand’s Health and Safety regulations, we also need to change the water basins to shower units.
